Summary:
The pastelli is a hand powered pasta machine that has three exchangeable modules for different tasks. The goal of the project was to create a modern pasta machine based on the technical principle of an old patent which describes the use of an adjustable roller system with an edge to scrape the dough from the roller to prevent sticking.

The pastelli features three different exchangeable modules to perform three different tasks: flattening the dough, cutting spaghetti, and cutting tagliatelle.
The red roller contains a roller to flatten the pasta dough, the distance between this roller and the one fixed onto the base of the pastelli can be adjusted with the knob on the side.
The green roller contains a roller with a pattern of knife blades, close together, to create spaghetti.
The yellow roller contains a roller with a pattern of knife blades, further apart than the green one, to create tagliatelle.

The pastelli is hand powered with a crank, the rotating motion of the crank is transported through gears to drive the rollers. The flat pasta dough is gently guided into the top of the machine, through the rollers, and out of the other side. To prevent the dough from sticking to the rollers, an edge surface close to the surface of the roller guides the pasta off the roller and out of the machine.
